Poecilia caucana |
Poecilia caucana are commonly called Mollies or Livebearers in the aquarium hobby. They live in freshwater, brackish water and saltwater. We have found larger amounts of them in the freshwater river deltas than in the ocean. The largest one we ever collected was 8 cm. long. We have found this species in the Morrocoy and San Esteban National Parks in Venezuela. Poecilia caucana is one of the species featured in the Freshwater Natural Aquarium Documentary.
